Why I built Your CFO Friend

I started Your CFO Friend because of what I kept seeing.

Working as a nonprofit CFO directly with CEOs, I watched the pressure they carried every day — running the organization, leading their team, asking funders for money, and walking into board meetings expected to show strength. Every one of those moments comes with financial data attached. The weight of producing and keeping the ship afloat is enormous.

And then there's the other problem: the "corporate" mindset most finance professionals bring with them. Impersonal. Strict. Unfriendly. In a room like that, it's almost impossible to raise your hand and say, "I don't understand."

So that's why I'm here.

As a CPA and an educator, my favorite thing in the world is the "aha" moment — when someone finally understands a concept that used to feel like a foreign language. That's what I want for every leader I work with.

I'm not here to walk ahead of you. I'm not here to hand you reports and disappear. I'm not here to be above you.

I'm right there beside you, every step of the way.

The educator in me runs this firm.

By day, I'm a Senior Director of Finance at a mission-driven nonprofit. By night, I teach accounting, mentor future CPAs, and translate "debits and credits" for anyone who'll listen.

That teaching instinct shapes everything about how I work with you. You won't get a report dropped in your inbox without explanation. You won't feel like you're falling behind a conversation. Every engagement is built so that you walk away from each meeting more confident, not more dependent.

There's more to me than spreadsheets and speaking gigs. When I'm not deep in lesson plans or month-end close, I'm singing, baking, running muddy 5Ks, learning guitar, or dropping random phrases in French.

Proud North Carolina native. Even prouder Aggie. Houston mom raising two amazing boys with my husband.
